Obama's Stimulus Package: How Big?

I am all for a jobs programs where people work for their money and its good for infrastructure of the country roads, bridges & blighted neighborhoods, but a $500 check will be used to pay bills and not stimulate the economy! It didn't work the first time, it just postponed the pain. Another idea would be is to help pay for the education for the medical profession.
